Newest first. Three numbers, and which of them moves says what happened to you rather than how much work it was.
The first moves when something that worked stops working: a query that used to answer and now does not, a saved list that will not load, a link you shared that no longer opens what it opened. It has never moved, and that is the whole of what it is for.
The second moves when the page answers something it could not answer before, or answers it better than it did. New grammar is the usual reason. A correction is the other, and a correction is not a break even though the answer changes underneath somebody: "days be christmas" used to say 154 days and now says nothing, because it was reading Belgium out of the word "be", and taking that away left the page more right rather than less useful. An answer that gains a drawing of what it just said counts here too.
The third moves when nothing you type comes back any different.
Numbers get skipped when it takes more than one commit to introduce a release, so only the release from the last commit goes out.

The ninth sweep, finished
- "distance from oxford to london" is 82 km. Oxford, York, Bath and Brighton all refused while Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol answered, and York was worse than a refusal: it came back as Cork, with Cork's distance under it.
- "distance from athens georgia to atlanta" is 96 km. The qualifier that tells two places apart was the one thing that stopped the name resolving at all, and it does the same for Birmingham Alabama, Portland Maine, Cambridge MA, St Petersburg Florida, Valencia Venezuela and Perth Scotland. The bare word still answers for whichever one it always answered for, and names the other.
- "distance from texas to california" is 2,357 km, Austin to Sacramento, and says so. It was measured from Chicago and Los Angeles, which are the cities those states' clocks are named after.
- "distance from narnia to london" says Narnia was never there. It used to correct it into a real Estonian town and offer the distance.
- "distance from canada to greenland" offers a reading. It refused with nothing underneath, because the line it was going to suggest swapped one end and left the other refusing in turn.
- "km between london and paris" answers, and so do "london to paris nautical miles", "london paris how far", "distance london-paris", "great circle london paris" and "how many miles apart are london and paris".
- "final bearing from london to paris" is 150°, the course it arrives on. Only the course it sets off on could be asked for. "back bearing from london to paris" is 328°, "back bearing 45" is 225°, and a magnetic bearing says it is answering in true north.
- "SSE" is south southeast, 157.5°. The page could name all thirty-two points and only when an angle unit was named with it.
- "how long to drive from london to paris" is 3h 25m, and the walk, the train, the bike and the boat all answer. It says twice over that it is a guess: this page holds no roads.
- "a second of latitude" is 30.9 m. It was three hundredths of a kilometre, and "a degree of latitude in metres" answered in kilometres.
- "area of hawaii" is 28,313 sq km. The table held the twenty largest states and Rhode Island, so Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania were missing while North Dakota was in. It holds all fifty now.
- "area of georgia" asks which Georgia, with both answers on the line. "how big is london" says what the metropolitan area is.
- "area of switzerland in square miles" is 15,940. "how many square km is switzerland" is 41,285 sq km rather than 41,285 times.
- "how many times does switzerland fit into the us by population" is 38.4. The measure only counted when it wore a comma, and the comma'd form had quietly stopped counting too.
- "italy fits into alaska" and "does texas fit in australia" both answer. They came back naming a fragment of this page's own grammar as a place.
- A coordinate is written one way now: "midpoint between london and paris" is 50.20° N, 1.13° E, the way "where is london" has always printed one.
- "2 inches" is 5.08 cm. It was 0.0000315657 mi, because a bare quantity was answered off a fixed ladder: "1 cup" came back in litres and gallons and "5 feet 10 inches" in miles.
- "3 hours" is 180 minutes and 10,800 seconds. A whole number of hours said nothing at all, because the answer was thrown out with its repeated headline. "36 hours" is a day and a half.
- "5 min/km" is 12 km/h and 8:03 min/mile. A pace on its own is what a watch shows and it needed something to convert into.
- "1 cup flour" is 120 g. "a cup of flour in grams" answers too, and so do all-purpose flour, sifted flour and cheese.
- "1 litre of water in kg" is 1 kg and "1 lb of butter in sticks" is 4. Both were a fraction off, from a rounded figure where the metric system and the butter trade both have a definition.
- "1/3 cup in tbsp" says "5 tbsp and 1 tsp exactly" underneath. 5.33 tablespoons is a number nobody can measure.
- "12 pt in px" is 16 px. It refused, correctly, that a pint is not a pixel, and nobody typing a font size writes "point".
- "1 cm in px at 300 ppi" answers, and so does "ppi" on its own, "reset ppi", and "300 dpi in pixels per cm".
- "5" in cm" is 12.7 cm and "5' in m" is 1.524 m. The pair has been read as a height for a long time and a single mark was nothing.
- "fan oven 180" is 160 °C. "what gas mark is 200 c" and "220 c in gas" both answer, and only one way round did before.
- "a4 in sq cm" is 623.7, "how many a4 in a0" is exactly 16, "a4 vs letter" compares them, "dl envelope in mm" is 110 × 220, and "a11" says the series stops at ten.
- "1 cc in ml", "1 rod in feet", "1 decade in years", "1 msv in mrem", "60 mph in fps" and "1 ares in m2" all answer. Each was the one rung missing from a ladder whose neighbours were all there.
- "1 metric cup in ml", "1 us fluid ounce in ml", "1 kilowatt hour in mj", "1 horse power in kw", "1 troy pound in g" and "1 uk tbsp in ml" all answer. Every one of them converted under an abbreviation and refused the words.
- "a difference of 10 c in f" is 18. Ten degrees is fifty Fahrenheit and ten degrees of difference is eighteen, and there was no way to ask for the second.
- "-500 k in c" says nothing is colder than absolute zero. "1 tonne in tons" says which ton. "1 score in units" no longer says sheets.
- "40 26 46 in degrees" is 40.4461. "15 deg in hours of angle" is 1. "6 ft 2 in kg" says a height is not a weight, rather than blaming a word nobody typed.
- "5 km = ? miles", "convert km to miles" and "5 km expressed in miles" all answer.
- "how much tip on 60", "tip 20% of 60", "divide 120 between 4" and "how much each if 120 between 4" all answer. Each was one word away from a sentence the page already read.
- "how much vat on 100" says which VAT it cannot pick. "120 including vat at 20%" is 100. "20% vat of 100" is 120.
- "15% discount on 200" is 170, and so are "10% off a 200 bill" and "200 less 20 percent". "20% increase on 200" is 240, which had no reading at all.
- "10% commission on 2000" is 200, with the 1,800 that stays. "20% of a fifth" is 4%. "12 out of 30 students" is 40%.
- "what was it before a 25% increase if now 125" is 100.
- "change from a fiver for 2.35", "how many 20 dollar bills in 500", "break 100 into fives", "fewest notes for 137" and "change for 137" all answer. "a roll of dollars" says what the mint rolls.
- "5 dollars in dimes and nickels" is 50 dimes. It went to the exchange desk and came back saying dimes are not a currency.
- "100 usd in canadian" is 137.00 CAD. "swedish currency" is SEK. "usd eur" is the rate. All three were held in a table that only ever fed a refusal.
- "100 usd in eur yesterday" says the rate for yesterday is not held, rather than blaming a currency called "eur yesterday". "100 usd in euros 3 days ago" now finds the day.
- "$50 + $20" is 70.00 USD: only the first symbol on a line was being read. "20 dollars and 50 cents in euros" answers.
- "tip on 100 usd" answers in dollars, and "100 usd each for 5 people" is 500.00 USD.
- "20 an hour a month", "50000 yearly to hourly", "raise of 5000 on 50000", "50000 after 20% tax", "20 an hour for 3 days" and "1798.65 a month for 30 years" all answer.
- "buy 3 get 1 free at 5", "50% off the second at 20", "unit price of 4.50 for 750g" and "how much do i save on 3 for 2 at 4.50" all answer, and a comparison takes three offers rather than two.
- "20% of 200 kg" is 40 kg. "20% off 200 then 8% tax" is 172.80. "-10% off 200" is 220, and says a discount below nothing is a rise.
- "15% to 20%" is five points, and a third bigger. "how many 20s in 500" is 25 notes rather than 25 times.
- "price per gram if 750g costs 4.50" is 0.006, with the 0.60 per 100 g beside it. It was 0.01.
- "2000 a month in yearly" says twelve months to the year. It used to name a forty-hour week that the sum does not lean on.
- "(3+4i)+(1-2i)" is 4 + 2i. Multiplying two complex numbers has worked for a long time and adding them had never been written. "real part of 3+4i", "sqrt(3+4i)", "exp(1+2i)" and "tan(2+3i)" answer too.
- "amplitude of 5cos(3t-2)" is 5. Every wave in time reads now: the reader looked for the letter x and nothing else.
- "period of tan(2x)" is pi/2, "peak to peak of 3sin(2x)" is 6, "5 min/km" is 12 km/h, and "rms of a square wave amplitude 3" is 3.
- "derivative of x^3 at x=2" is 12. "third derivative of x^5", "area under sin(x) from 0 to pi", "lim x->0 sin(x)/x" and "taylor series of 1/(1-x)" all answer, and "integral of x^2 from 0 to infinity" says it does not converge.
- "exact value of cosec 30" is 2. The exact table held three functions and the other three are one over them.
- "pi/6 in degrees", "reference angle of 210 degrees", "domain of arcsin", "30 degrees plus 45 degrees" and "reciprocal identities" all answer.
- "area of a semicircle radius 5", "area of an equilateral triangle side 4", "how many diagonals does an octagon have" and "triangle 3 4 5" all answer.
- "rms of 1 2 3 4", "standard error of 1 2 3 4", "linear regression 1 2 3 4 and 10 24 30 42", "median of 5" and "five number summary of 1 2 3 4 5" all answer.
- "probability z less than 1.5" is 93.3%, and "what percent of a normal curve is within 1 standard deviation" is 68.3%. The curve was computed exactly and could only be reached through a z-score.
- "combinations 10 3", "probability of at least one six in 4 rolls", "expected value of two dice", "probability of drawing two aces" and "how many ways to arrange the letters in banana" all answer.
- "solve 2a+3=7" is a = 2, and says a rather than x. "what is x if 2x+3=7", "roots of x^2-5x+6=0", "solve x squared minus 5x plus 6 equals 0" and "derivatives of x^2" all answer.
- "discriminant of x^2-5x+6" is 1, and says what that means. "geometric series a=1 r=2 n=10" is 1,023.
- "resistors 1k and 2k in parallel" is 666.667 ohms. The bench reads the k and the M now, three resistors as well as two, "awg 18 in mm", "what colours is a 220 ohm resistor", "blue grey orange gold", "capacitors 100uf and 220uf in series" and "10k and 20k divider at 5v".
- "torque of 10 n on a 5 m arm" is 50 N·m, square to the arm unless you say otherwise. "inclined plane at 30 degrees with 10 kg", "banking angle for 30 m/s on a 200 m radius", "components of 10 at 30 degrees", "how long to fall 10 km", "how fast after falling 100 m" and "momentum of 2 kg at -10 m/s" all answer.
- "ideal weight 5 ft 10 in male" is 73 kg, and "bmr for a 30 year old woman 60 kg 165 cm" is 1,320 kcal a day. "how many steps in 5 km", "split for 200 watts", "heart rate zone 2 at 40", "cooper test 2800 m" and "waist hip ratio 90 100" answer too, and an activity the MET table does not hold now says what it does hold.
- "what note is 440 hz" is A4. "semitones between a4 and c5", "an octave above 440 hz", "cents between 440 and 466", "120 bpm in seconds", "dotted eighth at 120 bpm" and "speed of sound at 20 c" all answer, and "60 db plus 60 db plus 60 db" takes as many sources as you name.
- "a4 at 300 ppi", "6 mp in resolution", "how many frames in 10 seconds at 24 fps", "timecode of 1000 frames at 24 fps", "height for 16:9 at 1920 wide", "how wide is a 55 inch tv", "field of view of 24mm on aps-c" and "aspect ratio of a4" all answer.
- "beaufort for 50 km/h" is force 6. The weather tables read backwards now: "feels like -5 at 30 kmh", "relative humidity at 25 c dew point 15", "sheet metal 18 gauge in mm", "density of steel in lb/ft3" and "conventional 200 in fan".
- "diameter of jupiter" is 139,820 km, which was a stored column nothing could ask for. "how long is a year on mars", "escape velocity of earth in mph", "atmospheric pressure at 5000 m", "how long does light take to reach mars" and "80 kg on the moon" answer, and Earth's own row no longer reads "1 Earth years".
- "how long is the night in zurich" is 8h 43m. The night, the darkness and the sunlight all read now, and so do "is the night longer than the day in zurich", "is the day getting longer in zurich", "how many days a year is the sun above 60 degrees in zurich" and "average sunrise time in zurich in july".
- "what season is it in sydney" is winter. The seasons and the solstices take a place now, or a hemisphere: "summer solstice zurich", "when is the winter solstice in melbourne", "when is midsummer", "how long between the equinoxes" and "sunset in zurich on the summer solstice".
- "when is the moon highest tonight in zurich" is 9:37 pm. The moon goes as far down the sun's list as the sun does now: its crossings of an angle, how long it is up, where it rises, whether it has risen yet, and which day of the month gets no moonrise at all.
- "what percent of the moon is lit" is 73%. "moon age today", "is the moon waxing or waning", "when was the last full moon", "is tonight a full moon" and "how many days between full moons" all answer.
- "how long is the next total solar eclipse" is 2 minutes 18 seconds. The eclipse answer can be asked for each of the six things its paragraph carries, by name or by its own date, and it says when it guessed your clock.
- "sun angle at 60 N at noon", "sunrise in tromsø", "how many days of midnight sun in longyearbyen", "when does the sun come back in longyearbyen" and "how many sunrises in august in zurich" all answer, and a dozen high-latitude towns went into the tables the polar answers are about.
- "sun's elevation in zurich", "sunset time zurich", "sunrise zurich gmt", "sun angle in zurich at 3pm utc", "sun angle zurich in 2 hours", "tell me the sunset in zurich" and "time until sunset zurich" all read: the words either side of a sky question no longer land in the place slot.
- "is it twilight in zurich", "when does it get dark in zurich", "how long is the golden hour in zurich", "which way should panels face in sydney" and "how tall is the pole if its shadow is 3 m and the sun is at 40 degrees" all answer.
- "days until flurbday" says it is not a day this page knows, rather than nothing. "what 5 km is in miles", "5 km, how many miles is that", "5 km in miles or feet" and a column of numbers pasted out of a spreadsheet all read.
- A clock carrying seconds says the seconds were dropped, and a span whose two ends land on the same minute because of it says so instead of answering a whole day.
- The examples under the box cover the whole grammar now, rotate across a visit, and come back when the box is emptied.

What the answer leaned on, said out loud
- "area of a circle radius 5" is 78.54. It printed 78.5398163397, which is two digits from the question and ten from pi, and a figure worked out from something somebody measured now keeps four. The triangles go with it: "triangle sss 3 4 5" is 36.87° · 53.13° · 90°. A big answer keeps its whole part rather than gaining noughts, so a circle of radius 5,000 is 78,539,816.
- ...and it says what it is 78.54 of. With no unit on the question the answer adds "in whatever the measurements were in, squared", since only you know what that was.
- "1/3" says "the 3 for ever · a cycle of 1 digit · cut at twelve figures". Twelve threes is not the number, and nothing said it had been cut.
- "5 pints in ml" says "US pints at 473 ml, the imperial one is 568". The gallon has named its reading for a long time and the pint, the quart, the fluid ounce and the two spoons said nothing. The fluid ounce runs the other way, and says so.
- "5 kg in miles" says what each side would take instead: "mass converts into pounds, grams or ounces · length into kilometers, meters or feet". It used to stop at "kg is mass, miles is length".
- "how many working days in 2027" says "no country said, so no holidays taken off". It answered 261, which is the weekday count, and "in the uk" gives 253.
- "1 jan 1" says "read 1 as 2001, four digits for the year itself". The century was added silently, and the long form was unfindable.
- "1/0.3048" is 3.28083989501. Four figures after the point were read as a year, so it came back "there's no month 0" while "1/0.304" answered, and "1/1.2345" answered 1 Jan 2345. Nothing divides by a date.
- "2026 in roman" echoes "2026 in Roman numerals" rather than 2,026. A year is the one number here that is never grouped, and "1,715 in base 8" keeps the comma you typed.
- "how many milliseconds until christmas" answers. It was the only member of the family that could not be asked for.

The release notes, paged, and a bare year read as a year
- This page was one document of six hundred kilobytes and grew by a section every release. It is paged now: what you are reading is whatever is newer than the last full page, and the rest is forty to a page under the list at the foot. The pages are cut from the oldest end, so a page keeps its contents forever and a link to one goes on meaning what it meant.
- "2026 in seconds" is 31,536,000 seconds. It answered 185.257 km/h: the converter read "2026 in" as 2,026 inches and "in seconds" as "per second", and printed the pair as a speed. A four-digit number with no unit of its own, in front of a length of time, is a year. "2026 in cm" is still 5,146 centimetres.

The Back button, the keyboard, and the four pages nobody could reach
- Back goes back a question. Every keystroke rewrote the same history entry, so fifty questions shared one and Back left the site.
- A shared link pasted into a tab that is already open now fills the box. The fragment was read once, at load, on the one page every shared link points at.
- Arrowing up through your past questions and back down again puts the half-typed line back, instead of emptying the box.
- The answer is a button. It can be reached with Tab and copied with Enter, and the copy says so out loud — this page's stated point is copying the values you need, and that was mouse-only.
- Each answer in the history is a button too, and belongs to the question beside it rather than sitting next to it as an unrelated string.
- A screen reader hears the answer once, when the typing stops, rather than once per keystroke.
- The examples and the history are named lists.
- "clear" says "clear saved queries", and turns into an undo for eight seconds. It is the only destructive control here and it had no confirmation and no undo.
- A pasted line answers at once. It was being treated like a keystroke, so "convrt 5 km to miles" pasted in said "can't read that yet" before it answered.
- "5 km in miles" and "5 KM IN MILES" are one row of the history rather than two.
- A shared link opens with the answer showing rather than with a phone keyboard over it.
- The sun ring, the clock board, the compass and the size map are in the footer of every page, and each names the other three. Four figures, four scripts, and the only way to any of them was an answer that happened to draw one.
- The completion list is readable. Its second column — where the currency names live — was drawn in the colour the borders are drawn in, which is a fifth of the contrast a piece of text needs.
- The box says when it has focus, and the row the arrows are on is marked in the list.
- The about page describes this program rather than one a fortieth of its size, and names the four figures.

Where a place is, and every formula asked backwards
- "coordinates of london" is 51.51° N, 0.13° W, and so are "where is london", "latitude of london" and "lat lon of london". The page has held a position for every place it knows since the distances went in, printed them under every midpoint and antipode, and could not be asked for one.
- "where am i" answers from the browser's own zone.
- "51.5,-0.1" on its own is a place with London two kilometres off it. It used to be read as a fifty-first of May.
- "how far is 51.5,-0.1 from london" answers. The same pair in the same reader's other grammar was a date.
- "nearest place to 51.5,-0.1" is London. That figure is printed under every antipode and could not be asked for.
- "how far is london from 0,0" is 5,727.67 km, and "distance from 0,0 to 0,180" is half the world. A coordinate had to carry a decimal point or a minus sign, which threw away every whole-degree position there is.
- "distance from 51°30'N 0°7'W to 48°51'N 2°21'E" is 343 km, which is how a chart writes a position and how a phone shares one.
- "how far is london from the north pole" is 4,280 km. A pole is the least ambiguous coordinate on earth and the answer was a note about time zones.
- "how far is london from the equator" is 5,728 km, measured to the nearest bit of it rather than to a spot off the coast of Ghana.
- "which is bigger switzerland or belgium", "is switzerland bigger than belgium", "compare switzerland and the us". The comparison with no number in it is the first thing anybody asks of a table of areas.
- "what is the largest country" is Russia, "longest river" is the Nile, "highest mountain" is Everest. The ranking has always run inside a ratio and could not be asked on its own.
- "what currency does sweden use" is SEK. The table that answers it is thirty-two countries deep and there was no sentence that reached it.
- "radius of a circle with area 50", "side of a square with area 16", "height of a triangle area 6 base 4", "radius of a sphere with volume 100". Every shape formula went one way only.
- "angle of a sector with radius 5 and area 13.09" is 60°, and "radius from arc length 5 angle 60 degrees" is 4.77. One third of the circle's own inversion was written and the rest was not.
- "length of a pendulum with period 2" is 0.994 m, which is the question a clockmaker asks.
- "what weight for bmi 22 at 180 cm" is 71.28 kg. BMI is a three-way relation and one leg of it was readable.
- "split for 200 watts" is 2:00.5 per 500 m, which is the direction an erg programme is written in.
- "how many hours at 15 to make 600" is 40 hours.
- "when is the day 12 hours long in zurich" is 18 March and 26 September. The year is walked for the longest day already, and the walk could only be asked forwards.
- "8% tax and 20% tip on 60" is 76.80, and says which base each rate was on.

Typos put right in the head, the SI prefixes applied, and the completion ranked
- "waht is 2+2" is 4, "tiem in tokyo" is the clock there, and "teh time in tokyo" and "hwo many days until christmas" both read. The correction ladder would not touch a word of four letters or fewer, which is every word a question opens with.
- "sunrsie in londn" answers with both readings on the echo. Two typos in a four-word question is not rare, and one was the limit.
- "distance from londn to paris" is 341.781 km. The clock reader corrected that spelling of London and the distance reader refused it, so the same mistake answered or did not depending on which reader happened to be standing there.
- "5 km in kilometrs" is 5 kilometres. The correction was already being found and printed underneath a refusal saying the word was unknown, which is the page saying it does not know and then answering anyway, in that order.
- "chirstmas" on its own answers. A misspelling is not a prefix, so the completion never had anything for it either.
- "days unti christmas", "5 km i miles", "5 km ot miles", "convert5 km to miles", "5 km inmiles" and "5 km in mile s". A half-typed connector, a missing space and a split plural are slips of the hand rather than of the memory.
- "weather in london" says there is no weather in here, and what it does know about London. Every word was known and only the noun was not, which is the one thing worth saying out loud.
- "the prime factors of 60", "the sunrise in london" and "the factorial of 20". A line that opened on its article kept it.
- "1 decilitre in ml", "3 GPa in psi", "250 microlitres in teaspoons", "1 nanogram in mg", "5 decametres in m". Every prefixed unit used to be a line somebody had typed, so the ones nobody had typed yet were refusals. The prefixes are applied now, to the SI units and to nothing customary: there is no kilo-inch.
- "1 MW in W" is a megawatt and "1 mW in W" a milliwatt, which is the one place on this page where the capitals decide.
- "1 g/cm3 in kg/m3", "20 l/min in gpm", "1 pa in n/m2", "10 m/s in ft/s", "1 kg/m2 in lb/sqft". A unit over a unit is a unit, and its factor is the division. The density reader had been printing three spellings it could not convert between.
- "16.6 kwh/100km in mi/kwh". The electric car's units, beside the petrol ones, and crossing between them is refused: a litre is not a kilowatt-hour.
- "1 hectare in tennis courts" is 38, "1 tonne in elephants" is 0.17, and "2 olympic swimming pools in litres" is two and a half million. One row of the canonical sizes was wired to the unit table and the rest were not.
- "1 bar" is 14.5 psi, and so are "1 psi", "1 kw", "1 kj" and "1 n". A bare quantity answered for seven dimensions and not for the ones a tyre, a boiler and a kettle are quoted in.
- "1 n in lb" is a fifth of a pound of weight on Earth, and says which gravity it took. "1 stick in grams" is butter, which is the only thing a stick has ever been.
- "1 lumen in lux" says a lumen needs the area it lands on, rather than that the two are different dimensions.
- Typing "how much" offers a money question, "where" offers a sky one, and neither offers "how much christmas". A suggestion has to parse as a phrase and not merely produce an answer.
- "time in mad" finishes as Madrid. Madras was renamed Chennai in 1996 and the two are the same length, so the tie broke alphabetically.
- "roman nume", "prime fact", "aver", "mortga", "tip on", "conv" and "20% o" all offer something. The whole-question suggestions covered moons, solstices and clocks and nothing else the page can do.
- "5 km in mil" offers two units rather than six spellings of two, and "time in de" greys Delhi on a phone the way it lists it on a desktop.
- "distance from lond" offers nothing, because what it would have offered answers between London and a city you never typed.
- "derivative of" offers sin and cos before the constants, every one of which differentiates to nought.

Letters counted, characters encoded both ways, and the ordinals read backwards
- "how many r in strawberry" is three r's, and so are "how many rs in strawberry", "count the letter r in strawberry" and "how many times does r appear in strawberry". The counters here counted letters, characters, vowels, consonants and words, all of which are classes of letter, and none of which is a letter.
- "how long is the word hello" is five characters, which "length of hello" has answered all along.
- "hello world in binary" is the eleven bytes. The encoders took one word and the counters beside them have taken a sentence since they went in.
- "hello in decimal" is the five code points and "hello in utf8" is the five bytes. Every answer here prints "in UTF-8" underneath and neither word could be asked for.
- "code point of €", "char code of A", "ascii 65". Three spellings of questions the character tables already answered.
- "ascii table" says what the ranges are and how to ask for a row. Every row of it answered and the shape of it could not be looked at.
- "ascii for newline", "ascii code for space", "ascii for tab". The characters with a name and no face are the rows anybody needs a table for.
- "256 in ascii" still prints the character and now says it is past 127, so it is Unicode rather than ASCII.
- "morse to text ... --- ...", which is the phrasing the binary decoder standing beside it has always read.
- "caesar cipher hello 3". The shift may be a bare trailing number, which is the shortest way the request can be written.
- "letter number 3" is c and "23rd letter" is w. Both directions were built and only the long spellings could be reached.
- "hello reversed", "121 palindrome". The postposed ask and the telegraphic verdict, which is how everything else here can be asked.
- "one hundredth in digits" is 100th, "twenty first as a number" is 21st, "21 ordinal" is 21st. The ordinal table was walked forwards three ways and backwards none.
- "today's year in roman numerals" is MMXXVI, which "this year in roman numerals" has answered all along.

Numbers said out loud, notations that only went one way, rounding, and the constants a formula sheet opens with
- "2 million in words", "a million in words", "1.5 billion in words". The words writer took a run of digits and a number said any other way reached it as nothing.
- "1/2 in words" is one half, "2 1/2 in words" is two and a half, and "50 percent in words" is fifty percent. The first of those was answering "the first of February".
- "two and a half in digits", "one and three quarters in digits", "a hundred in digits", "a dozen in digits". The article is how a number is spoken by anybody who is not counting.
- "1234 spelt out", "number to words 1234", "words to number forty two", "convert forty two to a number".
- "1234.56 on a cheque", "write a cheque for 1234.56", with the pence written the way a cheque writes them.
- "1e15 in words" is one quadrillion, and "1e100 in words" refuses with the power of ten that still holds it underneath.
- "one hundred thousand", "five hundred thousand", "two hundred and fifty". A number spoken in full was being taken apart in the wrong order and arriving as two.
- "1 score" is twenty, the same as "one score".
- "engineering notation 123456" is 123.456 × 10^3, the exponent held to a multiple of three, where the prefixes are. The word was in the page's own completion list with nothing behind it.
- "123456 in e notation". The e was unfolded and never folded.
- "2 1/2 as an improper fraction", "simplify 10:5", "16:9 as a decimal".
- "0.333... as a fraction" is 1/3, "1/3 recurring" names the digit that repeats, and "2/7 as a recurring decimal" names the six-digit cycle.
- "how many digits does 1000 have", "last digit of 1234", "first digit of 1234", "digit sum of 2^10". The readers took a power and refused a plain number, which is the easy case.
- "MCMXCIV + I". One letter is allowed on a side when the other is unambiguously Roman.
- "3.14159 to 2 places", "1/7 to 12 places", "2 significant figures of 1234", "0.6666666 rounded".
- "nearest integer to 2.7", "round 1234 to nearest hundred". Whole, integer and one are the nearest one, and the article the reader insisted on is optional now.
- "integer part of 2.7" and "fractional part of 2.7", which had no name here at all.
- "1e-300 * 1e-300" is nought, and says the true answer is about 10^-600 and smaller than this arithmetic holds. The overflow end has always been honest.
- Electron, proton and neutron mass, the atomic mass unit, the Planck length and time, the fine structure, Faraday, Rydberg and Stefan-Boltzmann constants, the vacuum permittivity and permeability, and the Bohr radius.
- "astronomical unit", "standard atmosphere", "h bar", "value of pi", "euler's number". Two of those the table already held and would not answer to.
- "electron volt in joules", "speed of light in km/s", "speed of light in miles per second", "gravity in ft/s2".
- "is pi exact", "is the speed of light exact", "gravitational constant exact". Every line here says whether it is exact and none could be asked.
- Pi, e, tau and the golden ratio print their symbol and their note now, the way every physical constant beside them does.

Stamps, written dates, the edges of a period, and the leap year explained
- "unix 1753300000", "epoch 1753300000", "1753300000 unix", "what time is 1753300000". One word beside a count of seconds is what makes it a stamp, and it read in one position only.
- "julian day" beside "julian date", "modified julian day", "mjd 61000". The observatory's own count, both directions.
- "timestamp in milliseconds", "seconds since 1 jan 2026", "date to timestamp 1 jan 2026", "1753300000 as date in tokyo".
- "today in words" is the twenty-fourth of July, two thousand and twenty-six, which is the shape a cheque and a wedding invitation want.
- "today as ordinal", "today as rfc 2822", "today in rfc3339".
- "260726" and "26 vii 2026", the till receipt and the European stamp. "3 x 12.50" is still a multiplication.
- "twenty sixth of july 2026", "the first of august", "first day of the month", "the 5th of next month", "the friday after next", "a couple of weeks".
- "1 jan 2026 + 1 quarter", and the decade, the century and the fortnight beside it.
- "difference between 1 jan 2026 and 1 mar 2026", "duration from", "gap between", "1 jan 2026 and 1 mar 2026", "1 jan 2026 minus 1 mar 2026". Five spellings of the span this page has always counted.
- "first day of q4", "when does q4 start", "h1 2027", "first half of 2027", "21st century", "this decade", "week starting 20 jul 2026", "w/c 20 jul 2026", "us week number of 25 dec 2026".
- "how long is august" is 31 days, and "how long is 2026 in seconds" is 31,536,000 of them rather than a speed.
- "leap day 2028", "last leap day", and "leap day 2027" says which year the next 29th is in.
- "why is 2028 a leap year", "why is 1900 not a leap year", "leap year rule". The reason was printed in the echo and nowhere the question could ask for it.
- "how many leap years between now and 2100": either end of the span may be said rather than spelled.
- "is today a weekday", "is it the weekend", "is today a working day". Only the weekend half of this answered, and only with a date for a subject.
- "how many weeks and days until christmas", "how many months and days until christmas". Two units asked for at once, which is what the answer already printed.
- "03/04/2026" names the other reading beside the one it took, so somebody who writes dates month first can see which was used.
- "percent of the year gone", "how far through 2026 are we", "year 2026", and "how many days in a leap year" says the century rule.
- "next 0 leap years" and "day -5 of 2026" are refused by the reader that holds the range, with the nearest legal one underneath.

Day and night is a switch now, and it is the site's switch
- The control in the corner was a grey pill with the word "theme" in it. It is the switch from the clock board's bar instead, at the same size, with the sun on the front of the knob and the moon on its back.
- It says the theme you are in rather than the one a click would fetch. The old word named the far side, so the page you were looking at and the word above it never agreed.
- The switch itself moved out of the clock board's stylesheet and into the site's, so there is one switch on the page and not one per figure. The board keeps only its own two glyphs.
Nothing about the answers has changed in this release.

Ages both ways, pregnancy all four ways, and nine calendars that read back
- "how old am i" with no birth date asks for one instead of saying nothing, and offers the shape that works.
- "age in months if born 15 jun 1990". Months is the one unit a parent uses and the one the list left out.
- "how old is a baby born 1 jan 2026", and the same for a child, a son, a daughter or a dog. Only "someone" read before.
- "when am i 18 if born 15 jun 2010", which is how the one birthday with a legal meaning is asked about.
- "how far along am i if my last period was 1 jun 2026", "when did i conceive if due 1 mar 2027", "trimester if due 1 mar 2027". Both halves of each were already computed and these questions reached neither.
- "age difference between 1 jan 1990 and 1 jan 1995", said in years, months and days rather than only in days.
- "what day of the week was i born if born 15 jun 1990": two questions this page answers, in the one sentence they are asked in.
- The Julian calendar is in, which is the calendar the pre-1582 rule is about. "today in the julian calendar" is 11 July 2026.
- "today in the chinese calendar" says why it is not in here, which its own new year has always said.
- "reiwa 8", "showa 50", "minguo 115", "thai year 2569". A whole date converted both ways and a year alone converted nowhere.
- "1 muharram" fills in the year, the way "26 jul" does.
- "hebrew new year", "persian new year". One calendar could be asked and the rest could not.
- "hijri today", "convert 25 dec 2026 to hebrew", "hijri date tomorrow", "hijri date in 100 days".
- A date in another calendar now reaches every reader: "what day of the week is 10 safar 1448", "days between 1 muharram 1448 and 10 safar 1448", "1 muharram 1448 + 30 days". The conversion used to happen inside one reader and land outside the rest of the page.
- "2026 in the japanese era" is Reiwa 8 rather than the first of January in it.

Recurrences take any window, and repeat more than a weekday
- "every friday from 1 aug 2026 to 30 sep 2026", and "between 1 aug and 30 sep". The explicit range is what you write when the month word will not do, and this page reads that range everywhere else.
- "every friday this year", "every friday next month", "every 2nd tuesday next year". The named windows worked and the relative ones did not.
- "every 15th of the month" and "the 15th of every month", which is how rent, an invoice and a standing order are described.
- "every last friday of the month" with no end date. The rule was implemented and only the phrasing without an end was unread; it runs a year and says so.
- "every weekday in august", "every day in august", "every weekend in august". These could be counted and not listed.
- "every 3 days from 1 aug 2026", "every 2 weeks", "every month". A length is a stride, which is the general case of "every other friday".
- "every friday for 10 weeks", the window closed by a length rather than by a date, counted from tomorrow: ten is the next ten.
- "all fridays in august 2026" and "list the mondays in august" give the dates, which is what "every friday in august" gives.
- "next 3 fridays in august". A count and a window are compatible, not exclusive.
- "next two paydays if paid on the 25th", "every payday", "how many paydays in 2026". The page lists more than one of everything else it can name one of.

The holiday tables answer the questions people ask of them
- Ask about a holiday without saying which country and the page asks you back, and offers your own country underneath. "next holiday", "holidays in 2026", "bank holidays 2026" and "when is the next day off" all said nothing.
- "us holidays in august" and "french holidays": the country said as an adjective in front of the word, which is the order people type it.
- "how many public holidays does france have". The verb was the whole of the difference.
- Every country's own days can be asked for by name: "australia day", "german unity day", "anzac day", "waitangi day", "republic day india", "may day". The lists printed them and could not be asked about them.
- "when is 4 july observed in 2026" is Friday the 3rd. The observed day was computed and printed under another answer and could not be asked for.
- "holidays between now and christmas in the us". A month worked, a year worked, and everything between the two was silent.
- "is the us closed on 4 july 2026". Closed, shut and day off are the words the question is asked in when it matters.

Places it could not name, spans it could not add up, and daylight saving asked in the words people use
- Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland answer, and all four parts of the UK now print the same country name. One of them said "United Kingdom" and another said "the UK", in one reader, decided by which part you typed.
- "when do the clocks change in europe" and "in the eu" answer. The date sat behind every member state and could not be asked for by the name of the body that sets it.
- "time in genève" answers. An accented spelling that is not itself in the table now reaches the spelling corrector.
- A name that means several places says so and offers the spellings that settle it: "time in springfield" lists Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri and Oregon, and each of those answers.
- A place this page does not know is said out loud instead of met with silence. "is narnia ahead of london", "narnia time" and "is it dst in narnia" all said nothing, while "what timezone is narnia" named it. Words that mean something else here keep their silence, so "lunch time" is still somebody's lunch.
- Lengths of time add up properly. "1:45 + 0:30" is how a timesheet writes one; "2h30 + 45m + 15m" adds three terms where it used to take two and stop; "2 hours * 3" and "8 hours / 3" multiply and divide, and a third of eight hours reads as 2 hours 40 minutes rather than as 2.67.
- "how many hours is 9am to 5pm", "between 9am and 5pm", "shift from 9am to 5pm", "9am to 5pm minus an hour", "9am to 5pm with a 30 minute break".
- A span can be asked about a day: "hours between 1am and 5am on 8 march in new york" is three hours, and no clock on the wall says so.
- "dst london", "when does bst end", "when did the clocks change last", "at what time do the clocks change", "how much does the clock change" (thirty minutes on Lord Howe), "will the clocks go back in london", "spring forward 2027", "is london on gmt or bst", "is it winter time in london". One reader held the date, the hour, the direction and the size of every change, and would answer only the first.
- The arrow this page prints on its own echo line reads back: "3pm tokyo -> london". So do "into", "as", a leading "from", the two places with nothing between them, and the equals sign in "9am tokyo = what time in london", which used to blame London.
- "tonight in tokyo" says a part of the day names no one clock reading, rather than nothing.
- "working hours in tokyo" is a clock answer. It was being refused by the unit table, which read it as a request to turn weekdays into hours and did not mention Tokyo.
- "best time to call tokyo" assumes your own clock for the other end, the way every other reader here does.
- "now to zurich + 3 hours". A length chained onto a conversion is applied to the instant, so a chain across a clock change or a midnight is right rather than plausible.
- Six more clock abbreviations read: AT, CAT, WAST, IRST, ART and CLT. And "what is GMT" answers.

The gap between two clocks, asked the other ways
- The difference now moves with the season on the day you ask about, not just the month. "time difference between london and new york on 1 november" says "New York is 5 hours behind London on 1 November, 4 hours until 2:00 am", which is the morning the American clocks go back. A month that holds more than one gap says so, and says which days it moves on.
- "london utc offset in january" and "what will london's offset be in january" answer. The offset takes the same tail the difference does, for the same reason.
- "hours difference between tokyo and london". The unit reads in front of the word as well as in the middle of the phrase.
- "difference between tokyo and london time", with the word "time" where it lands when the sentence is spoken.
- "tokyo london time difference", which is how a search box gets filled in.
- "tokyo vs london time". The comparison's own joining word.
- "how many hours is tokyo ahead of london", which is the order the sentence takes when it is written down. Only the spoken order read.
- "which is later, tokyo or london" answers "Tokyo, by 8 hours". The same question as a choice rather than as a yes or a no.
- "is tokyo the same day as london", "is it already tomorrow in sydney". Every conversion answer here has printed the day rollover on its second line for as long as there have been two of them, and it could not be asked for on its own.
- "same timezone tokyo london", the telegraphic form, which is what gets typed the second time.
- "what is the gap between tokyo and london". This page calls "gap" a clock word and only answered to "time gap".

Noon, midday and midnight, said every way a clock is written
- A time of day typed on its own tells you how far off it is, the way a date does. "noon", "midday", "midnight", "12pm", "3pm", "15:30" all answer the same shape now. "midnight" used to answer off the calendar and print a date; the other four said nothing.
- "midday in tokyo" answers. It was the one of the three named hours this page listed and could not read.
- "12 noon in tokyo" and "12 midnight in tokyo", which is how the hour is said out loud and printed on a timetable. "11 noon" says it names two times of day rather than picking one.
- "quarter to midnight", "five to midnight", "half past noon". The spoken clock could only be spoken to in numbers, so the two hours that have names were the two you could not ask about, and the name now carries which half of the day it is.
- "quarter after three in tokyo" and "twenty-five to four in tokyo". Both read on their own and neither read with a place on them: the words were written down twice and the two copies had drifted. They are written once now.
- "0930 in 12 hour time" and "1430 in military time". The colonless clock is what this page itself prints for military time, and it could be converted in neither direction.
- "530pm in tokyo" answers instead of saying "pm isn't a unit I know", which was a clock question refused by the unit table.

Midnight to midnight is a day, and the countdown counts from the clock
- "midnight to midnight" is 24 hours. So are "9am to 9am" and "3pm to 3pm". All three came back as no time at all, because two clocks reading the same thing were treated as no gap rather than as a whole day round.
- "hours until midnight" agrees with "time to midnight". It used to say "in 28 hours" where the other said "in 4", at the same instant, because the counting words were answered off the calendar and the calendar's tomorrow is not always your tomorrow. It is counted on the clock now, and it takes a place: "hours until midnight in tokyo".
- "how long is 9am to 5pm in tokyo" gives you the length. A range with a place beside it is still converted into your own clock, which is what it is nearly always for; asking for the length by name gets you the length. The line underneath names the place once, where it used to say "Tokyo to Tokyo".
- "hours since 9am" counts backwards. The whole family was silent: "minutes since 3pm", "how long since 9am".
- "hours until 5pm tomorrow" and "hours until 5pm on monday" take the day. Every other clock reader here took a day beside its clock and this one refused.
- "hours until five" reads the hour spelled out, and says which five it took, an hour with no am or pm on it being two times of day.
- "in 3 hours in tokyo" and "3 hours ago in london" answer. Both worked with question words in front of them and neither worked said plainly, which is the shorter way and the way it is spoken.
- "what time will it be in tokyo in 3 hours" answers, the place and the length either way round.
- "add 30 minutes to 3pm" and "subtract 30 minutes from 3pm". The sum was there under "3pm + 30 minutes" and only the verb was missing.
- "this time tomorrow in tokyo", "same time tomorrow", "this time next week".

The clock board says which day, and names the right cities
- The line under the board, which is the one you copy into a message, now says the date. Once at the end where every place is on the same day, against each place where they are not, and a meeting whose end runs into the next morning says so on the rows it runs into the next morning on.
- A country's clocks are named by the biggest city on each of them. Russia's UTC+3 is Moscow rather than Saint Petersburg, Canada's six run Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Halifax and St John's, and the American clocks are Denver and Chicago rather than Salt Lake City and Dallas. The picker and the "name a city" refusal read that one list, where they used to keep one each.
- No row in the picker names a place in letters. Hawaii's clock was offered as "hst" and Alaska's as "akdt", which are not cities.
- Typing a country with several clocks into the picker finds them whichever way you ask. Brazil found nothing at all before.
- St John's has its apostrophe, and answers to either spelling.
- Every city in the picker for a federal country says which state it is in. Adak said "the US" while Anchorage on the next row said "Alaska".
- A board of ten places holds ten. It drew eleven, because your own clock was added after the limit rather than inside it.
- "9am to 5pm in tokyo" draws a board, with the eight hours marked across it as a bar, and the link out to the full board carries the length as well as the instant.

The failed-query report stops reporting your typing
- When the page cannot answer something, it tells me the spelling and nothing else, so the phrasing can be built. It was also telling me every half-written version of it on the way, because a sentence being typed goes unanswered several times before it is a sentence. A line another line in the same visit starts with is now dropped before anything is sent. Nothing else about the report changed, and it still carries no account, no address and no cookie.

One precision policy, written down once
- Every number is written to one of five named caps now, held in one place: a sum to twelve significant figures, a converted quantity to six, a rate to three decimals, money to the penny, and a whole number under 2^53 exactly. Ask "how precise is that" after any answer and it names the rule that wrote it.
- The percent rules print their rates to three decimals, the way the interest answers always did, and their money to the penny: a discount on a price with pennies in it comes back in pennies, with the amount that came off underneath.
- A temperature is written with its scale's symbol wherever it appears, so "20 c in f" and wind chill agree on "°F".
- Binary dust is nought: "0.1+0.2-0.3" is 0.
- A whole number typed past 2^53 refuses with the reason instead of being quietly rounded and subtracted.
- A sum said in lakhs or crores is grouped as one, the way a bare lakh already was.
- The significant figures in a number can be counted, with the rule that decided said: a trailing nought after the point counts because it was written.
- Round half to even is a named rounding mode now, by its name or the banker's, and plain "round 2.5" says which rule it used.
- A sum joined with "then" reads as one line riding on the last answer: "2+2 then times 2".
